About Comunidad Mujer Valiosa / Valuable Women Community
Listen to the heart of our president, Rebeca Segebre, as she shares the vision of the Valuable Women’s Community and everything we’ve prepared for you.
Welcome to Valuable Women, where we believe that knowledge is the key to unlocking our true potential. As a non-profit organization dedicated to the art of literature and education, we are proud to serve the Latino community from Winston-Salem, NC to all around the world.
At Valuable Women, we understand that reading is a powerful tool that can transform lives. That’s why we are committed to promoting writing and reading in both English and Spanish, and to bringing families together through the shared experience of literature. We believe that reading is not only a way to improve language skills but also a means to foster deep connections and understanding between generations.
The featured authors of Editorial Guipil serve as leaders in this community, using the theme of their book as a foundation. All Guipil books are authentic stories beautifully woven from ideas to paper and written by Latina women in the United States.
About Güipil Publishing – Amplifying the Voices of Latina Women Authors.
More than a Publishing House. We are storytellers, memory keepers, and culture bringers, encapsulating who we are in every story we publish. Specializing in tales originally penned in Spanish, we bring voices to the forefront, cherishing every narrative thread and weaving cultures closer together.
What is the meaning of “Güipil”?
A Güipil, is a traditional blouse meticulously handcrafted by Mayan women. Each thread woven into it also narrates a story – perhaps of a beautiful garden, a serene lake, or simply the vivid colors of a small town. Güipil’s not only celebrate but also preserve our cultures in each meticulous stitch.
